Care
instructions
The Westie has a double coat.. A rough coat and a soft undercoat.
It should be regularly brushed or combed with a narrow ridge.
First, we use the brush to comb out the coat without nipping.
Should then be reworked with a narrow ridge to the removal of
individual nodules. Most of the little guy enjoys this procedure
because it has a massaging effect. In rare cases, the dog should
be bathed. Only if he has really rolled in the dirt and unpleasant
odors rise from it.
By constant bathing of the natural acid mantle is destroyed
and this can lead to skin eczema. The coat is by combing back
beautifully white and clean.
The Westie must be trimmed at regular intervals. By trimming
the top coat is nice and hard and lifted the undercoat, but
in any case, he should be shaved. This makes the skin soft.
You can even cut the eyes, sometimes even free himself and remove
the fur between the pads. Otherwise, small stones and dirt can
settle and that can cause pain.
The eyes must be free of sleep and the ears at intervals with
a liquid ear cleaning cleaned. Under no circumstances should
you use cotton buds. Because that will only hold the cerumen
further into the ear canal.
If canned food is used, should be wiped after eating even a
small snout, so that no bacteria can collect in the lips. This
can lead to inflammation.
You are welcome to make an appointment with me to trim. Take
for 1 Schedule a little time to get to know your dog.
